Visitors can bath, and take a part in different sport activities, and cultural events, and naturally there are some monuments in Balatonboglár.

Main road 7 and line Budapest-Nagykanizsa crosses the city which has 6200 inhabitants. Ships arrive also to the port.

Balatonboglár is located in the middle of the southern coast. Other geographical dowers add to fine position: number of the sunny hours per year are nearly 2000, Lake Balaton, Nagy-Berek, vulcanic originated areas of Várdomb and Temetődomb, varied flora and fauna make this place prominent.

According to different findings, people settled down on this land 6000 years ago. The first writng remembrance dates back to 1211. People of this crowded area worked as a fisherman, waterman, grower and stockman. Enlightened owners of the lands helped the start of shipping on Lake Balaton. The first steam boat -Kisfaludy-steam boat- was docked in the port of Balatonboglár for the first time in 1846-.

It was very popular from the begining of bathing-tourism because of fine position and warm, shallow water with sandy plage. In 1907 it was denominated Balatonboglár. Lately the city was being restored, new overlay was placed in the city center, beautiful designed houses were being builted also. Visitors can bath here, and take a part in different sport activities, and cultural events, and naturally there are some monuments.
