Budapest leisure and sport

Entertainment and health sports are becoming every more popular in Budapest. Dozens of joggers, young and old, are to be seen in the capital’s parks (and primarily on Margaret Island) from morning to evening. Besides the Hajos Alfred National Sports Swimming Pool, the most popular pool on Margaret Island, there are more than 25 other strands, swimming pools or medicinal baths in the capital.

The city is networked by many cycle paths, and in winter (between December and March) the City Park lake is transformed into Central Europe’s largest open-air skating rink (in summer it functions as a boating lake). The Buda Hills are generally suitable for skiing and sledging between December and February. The following is a list of just a few of the near countless fashionable sport offers around town.
