Promenade Festival 2007
The by now traditional Promenade Festival in Pécs has been enriched with a new theme. As part of this year's Festival, the series of programmes called Light-Art-Science emphasises the relationship between art and science and focuses on productions and borderline cultural phenomena that may be interesting for the general public and restricted professional circles alike.
n this spirit, the Barbican Moat will host "Lapps and the Laptop", an especially grotesque laser light and sound show and "Returning", a laser light installation, both performed by the painter and light artist Attila Csáji between June 16 and 18. The Spidron Exhibition, an outstanding event of the Festival held in Hattyúház (Swan House), presents the geometric and artistic form system that has recently attracted a lot of international interest. An event related to the Spidron Exhibition, Pécs - Ars GEometrica (P-AGE 2007), an international symposium and workshop offers an opportunity to committed representatives of mathematics, geometry and art to think together about different issues. The Tünet (Symptom) Ensemble (Réka Szabó's Troupe ), will perform "Véletlen" (Chance), a dance performance disseminating scientific knowledge, with the participation of the mathematician László Mérő on June 18 in the evening.
In addition to the above events, there will be several concerts, film shows and programmes for children as well.
