Zalakaros, the town of healing waters

The name Zalakaros reminds everybody of the youngest town of Hungary, the famous medicinal-bath, in the town with its 1300 inhabitants.

It is a fact that the 800 years old settlement 18 kms from Nagykanizsa became famous for the best-known medicinal-centreof the country. It is worthy to take a bath in one of the pools, as they provide efficient help against numerous ilnesses. Comfortable and efficient hip-baths wait those who wish to go on a spa holiday. A special spieces of the bird population of Hungary, the large-egret hatches here. With a little bit of luck we can see how this unique bird wades through the swamp to find food. The special water-plants of the lake delight not only our eyes, but souls too. No wonder that herons, geese, thrush chose this beautiful environment to be their living-place.

It is worth it to go a little further and visit the bison-reserve in Kápolnapuszta, located between Zalakomár and Balatonmagyaród. We can catch exclusive moments of the lives of the 80 large animals.
The Zalakaros airport has been through a significant development recently. The owners and operators of the airport help the place to become more and more popular. The number of the tourists who arrive here by air is increasin year by year. The pilots of the airport deliver the airguests even to the beach area.
